Former MMDCES  in the Northern Region have congratulated the NPP Flagbearer for election 2028, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for his victory on the 31st January,  2026 Presidential primaries.

Speaking on behalf of the Group, Hon Salifu Sule, a former mayor of Tamale,  indicated that the massive election of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was a certificate of confidence reposed in him, and they were convinced that he would be elected the next president of Ghana in 2028.

'The name Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is a household name in Ghana, and the delegates of the NPP couldn't have made a better choice'. He added

The former MMDCEs stated that after competition  comes cooperation and therefore urged all stakeholders of the NPP to support the new Flagbearer for victory in 2028.

It must be recalled that before the presidential primaries, the former MMDCEs spoke to the *Voiceless media* declaring support for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and cited his marketability and rich ideas as some of their reasons. 

The victory of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has brought renewed trust,  excitement, and energy to the NPP,  says the former MMDCEs.

It must be explained that the former MMDCEs are made up of those who were appointed under President  John Agyekum Kufour and also under President Nana Addo. 

They have pledged to campaign fully to make the  Flagbearer president in January 2029.
