The long awaited NPP presidential primaries are upon us. Tomorrow, Saturday, January 31, 2026, thousands of party delegates will converge to choose the flagbearer who will lead the New Patriotic Party into the 2028 general elections.  

All indicators from final opinion polls to grassroots momentum, point decisively to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerging victorious. Recent projections, including those from Global InfoAnalytics and Africa Policy Lens (APL), forecast a clear first-round triumph for Bawumia, with estimates placing him at 57% or higher, far ahead of competitors.  

Delegates have praised his smart ideas and vision for Ghana. “The moment is here, and the choice is clear: experience, integrity, and winnability,” a Bawumia campaign spokesperson stated.  

As excitement builds nationwide, party faithful express optimism that a Bawumia Flagbearership will unify the ranks and position the NPP strongly for a comeback.
