Six former Upper East Regional Ministers have endorsed the candidature of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the NPP Presidential primaries on January 31, 2026.

The six former regional ministers are: 

1. Hon Mahami Salifu

2. Hon Boniface A. Agambila

3. Hon Rockson Bukari

4. Hon Paulina Abayage

5. Hon Stephen Yakubu

6. Dr Hafiz Bin Salih

The Six who are all veteran politicians with  sufficient knowledge of the history of the NPP, told the Voiceless Media that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia had served the NPP and Ghana faithfully and obtained sufficient knowledge on governance and politics and was well prepared to lead the NPP to victory in election 2028.

They also indicated that the name Bawumia was already a household name, and marketing him to the Ghanaians will be very easy for the NPP as they work to come back to power in 2029. 

The former Regional Ministers served at various times under President John Agyekum Kufour and President Nana Addo.

They are highly respected figures in the Upper East region, and their declaration of support will impact positively on the fortunes of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in both the Upper East Region and beyond.
