Savannah Regional Chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Sulemana Iddrisu, also known as Professor Kalamonia, has sued one Sharif Governor, also known as Sharif Osman for defamation at the Tamale High Court. 

The writ of summons was dated 12/12/ 2025 and issued at the Tamale High Court. 

Sharif Governor had published on several platforms that a funeral donation of Ghc100,000 ( One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis) was allegedly donated by Dr Mohammed Amin  Adam ( Anta) in respect of a funeral of a party official in the Savannah Region but got pocketed by Chairman Sulemana Iddrisu Also known as Chairman Kalmonia. 

The publication, which has now turned out to be an outright fabrication,  falsehood, and concocted was aimed at belittling, undermining, and denigrating the hardworking and well-respected Chairman Professor Kalamonia. 

The publication has caused Chairman Kalamonia sufficient embarrassment,  disgrace, and injury to his integrity  and that of his family. 

The defamation suit is to provide Sharif Governor the opportunity at the Tamale High Court to prove his allegations or face the anger of the law.

It has become a practice recently,  within the NPP for its members to be making wild allegations against  senior members of the party in the Northern region and else where. 

A practice that has injured hard earned reputations already.

It is believed that suits like this will help bring  decency into the political space, restore damaged reputations, reprimand those involved in such schemes, and expose their sponsors, if any.
