Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia remains the surest bet for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as we look ahead to the 2028 elections and beyond. At a time when the party needed a voice, a defender, and a torchbearer of hope, Dr. Bawumia stood tall. He has proven to be a man of integrity, intelligence, and unmatched dedication to the NPP’s cause.

Let us not forget those difficult moments in our party’s history when hope seemed lost. It was Dr. Bawumia who carried the burden of the NPP’s defense during the 2012 election petition — standing boldly in the witness box against the legal might of Tsatsu Tsikata. With calm confidence, he took every bullet, every question, and every challenge, yet never wavered. His memorable words, “You and I were not there,” still echo in Ghana’s political memory as a mark of courage and truth.

Even today, those who contest him acknowledge his brilliance. They have, on many occasions, praised his intellectual depth and economic insight — the same qualities that revived the NPP when it was nearly gasping for breath. Through his lectures and public engagements, Dr. Bawumia repositioned the party as a credible, ideas-driven alternative and restored confidence among the grassroots.

Beyond his sharp intellect, Dr. Bawumia stands out for his humility — a rare quality in politics today. He listens, he learns, and he leads with compassion. His record in public life remains unblemished, his service unquestionable, and his loyalty to the NPP unwavering.
