I bring warm greetings to you and all party officers at Asylum Down, Accra. Justin Kodua Frimpong (JFK), your boys call you “Okumkom.” From the beginning of this year, I have always tried to write something like this to you, but sometimes I stop in the middle and say “Ehuhia” — that it is not needed. But today I say no, for the soul of the party and for the sake of tomorrow, I will put something before you regardless of whatever it will be.

They say power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I think that is where we are now. JFK, do not fall for the sycophancy and the paid praise-singing coming from your circle. I need not talk much here. I hope you remember how the mighty John Boadu as GS was defeated by you? If you know, you know.

Justin Kodua Frimpong, I am not here to defend or hold brief for the actions of Kwame Baffoe Abronye, because Abronye, Bono Regional Chairman, is a man on his own and I know he can defend whatever he said when he appears before the Disciplinary Committee, as you indicated in your press release that you have submitted a petition to the DC on the conduct of Abronye. The issues you raised were that Abronye defamed Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, who is a presidential aspirant; that he made baseless allegations against you the General Secretary; and that he misrepresented committee findings.

General Secretary, as I said, I am not here to defend Abronye. But I ask you — are you having personal scores to settle with Abronye? I will leave that issue for now. JFK, is it today that you have suddenly become the GS of the NPP, or are you not the same Kodua who has been GS for almost four (4) years now? I am being frank with you: Abronye said those things because someone else said worse things about the party, the President, the Vice President, national executives, and ministers — holding the entire government and party to ransom under your watch as General Secretary — but you did nothing to that person. And that person is Kennedy Agyapong.

You sat down unconcerned for Kennedy Agyapong to run down a whole government with propaganda. At that time was there no DC in the party? The irony and puzzling part is that today you are petitioning the DC on Abronye because he insulted Kennedy Agyapong. Is everything even ok?

As George Orwell rightly said in Animal Farm, “All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.” That is what your actions mean. When Kennedy Agyapong started his excesses and anti-party conduct in 2022, some of us started calling on you, the party leadership, to crack the whip and call Ken to order or sanction him, because he was setting a dangerous precedent. All of you, including you — who today want to show us that you have muscles — looked on unconcerned and allowed Kennedy Agyapong to run down a government in the name of a presidential campaign, which our opponents were using his voice and message to campaign against our candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Abronye only learned from Kennedy Agyapong. Besides, Abronye is not attacking the party but Kennedy Agyapong, whose actions cost us in the 2024 election. Someone who attacked, maligned, and spread propaganda against his own party and government, including a sitting Vice President, Dr. Bawumia — you did not see the need to petition Ken before the DC. But Abronye, who has done less than what Ken did to the party and government from 2022 to 2024, you have petitioned before the DC. Wow. You are telling us that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is less of a human being? Thank you for that! You see, you are part of the problems of this party.

Again, if you do not sit up, you will go down in history as the most disappointing and worst GS the NPP ever had. I cannot fathom why the numerous attacks on Dr. Bawumia and his wife Hajia Samira Bawumia — even down to the extent of their tribes — you have not seen the need to petition such people from Ken’s camp to the DC. This direct discrimination should not be coming from a General Secretary. I think you have a selective memory. Below are the actions of Kennedy Agyapong and his minions that sabotaged the party, the government, Dr. Bawumia, and his wife under your watch as General Secretary — but you kept quiet. What is good for the goose is also good for the gander.

1. Prior to the primaries in 2023, Kennedy Agyapong told the world that he was being offered $800 million dollars to step down from the 2023 primaries and become a running mate to Dr. Bawumia. He knew he was telling lies but still did it just to cause dissatisfaction in the party. Yet JFK did not see the need to petition or refer him to the Disciplinary Committee for investigation into who offered such money. What is more defaming than this?

2. After Ken lost the primaries, he went to Bantama to campaign for his brother Ralph Agyapong against Hon. Asenso Boakye in the parliamentary primaries. The attacks he unleashed on Asenso Boakye, even including his mother, were shameful. He said Asenso Boakye, then Minister for Works and Housing, together with the MD of State Housing, Nana Appiah Vyrus, were thieves who had stolen state land. Till today, he has not shown us where they stole land from. What is more anti-party, defamatory, and baseless than this? But I am sure you were sleeping at that time.

3. On the same campaign trail for his brother, Ken said Hon. Asenso Boakye had colluded with former Chief Justice Anin Yeboah to sell the residence of the late Supreme Court judge Justice Samuel Marful-Sau — a pure falsehood. Even Samson Anyenini of Joy FM fact-checked the issue and told the public it was a lie. This was smear campaign and defamation against a government he himself was part of. What did you do?

4. Ken went on to say Asenso Boakye was a thief and if Bantama delegates voted for him, he would expose him. Delegates gave Asenso Boakye 80%, and to this day, Ken has not been able to expose him.

5. In such a sensitive election year, Ken accused government appointees and NPP members of stealing as if there was no tomorrow, and exporting dollars abroad to buy homes. He gave propaganda ammunition to the NDC, who in turn branded Akufo-Addo and his appointees as thieves. Ghanaians believed such propaganda and voted against us. Till today, Ken has not been able to produce evidence of a single person who stole money and sent it abroad.

6. When Ken, in the heat of the primaries, threatened to give a sitting President and Vice President — Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia — a “showdown” for allegedly scheming the Super Delegates primaries for Bawumia, it created needless tension. Where were you, General Secretary?

7. Ken also boldly announced on radio that if he lost the primaries, he would not leave the party like Alan did, but would stay and make the party suffer. Later, A Plus confirmed on live radio after the 2024 elections that Ken gave him sensitive information to help an independent candidate win against the NPP in Gomoa Central. Was this not anti-party conduct deserving expulsion? What is more treacherous than this?

8. After the Super Delegates election, Ken lied that constituency chairmen were offered GH¢100,000 and a pickup each to vote for Dr. Bawumia. This false claim even led to a confrontation between him and the Sagnarigu constituency chairman. Justin Kodua Frimpong, you knew it was not true. What is more defamatory to Dr. Bawumia than this — unless you are telling us he is less of a human being?

General Secretary, with all the points I have stated, these things happened under your watch. You could not crack the whip. Yet today you suddenly want to make Kennedy Agyapong look untouchable by using Abronye as a sacrificial lamb, even though Abronye only learned from Ken. You cannot approbate and reprobate. We will not accept such things. You brought this.

Good morning!
