Voiceless Media can confirm that 4 persons have indicated their intention to contest for the position of the Upper East Regional chairmanship position when nominations are opened later this year.

They are:

1. Ing. Filson Awankua

 is making his third  attempt at the regional chairmanship of the NPP in the Upper East Region.  He is no stranger to such a contest and was part of the 5 candidates who contested in the last regional elections for the same position. 

2. Dr Kwabena Moses Atinga is a medical doctor by profession and highly interested in the NPP politics in the Upper East Region and wants to chair the party in the region. He contested the last Regional Chairmanship slot but was not successful.  

3. Atia Figo  Awonekai was the NPP Parliamentary Candidate in Bolgatanga Central in election 2024. He is currently the Regional Secretary and understands the politics of the region. 

4. Jerry Asamane was the regional organizer of the NPP in the Upper East region and also served as the Upper East regional NADMO Coordinator. He was one of the five candidates who contested in the last Regional Chairmanship elections but was not successful. 

It must be stated that aside from Hon Atia Figo, the other 3 candidates have previously contested for the position of Regional Chairmanship but were not successful.
