WHY CHANGE DR. BAWUMIA WHEN HE ALREADY HAS 41% VOTES TO BUILD ON IN 2028?

In accessing the 2024 Presidential elections it is important for the members of the New Patriotic Party to approach it with circumspection in order not to throw the baby away with the water. Yes every member of the party has the right to be angry with the performance of the party in the just ended elections. However, I would like to edge everyone to be very circumspect with how they express their hunger in order not to further deepen the cracks that contributed partly to our terrible defeat.
I have been monitoring the discussions on various platforms pertaining to the defeat of New Patriotic Party and I have come across a series of attacks and counter attacks from all levels of a leadership structure and should say I am very worried and concerned as a loyalist of the party.
To add to the discussion without going into the numbers I would like to ask questions, Why would anyone want the party to change Dr Bawumia? Is it the case that those people never wanted him to win so they brought their candidate to the lead? Have those people thought of the electoral repercussions of presenting a new candidate in 2028 or they just want their candidate to lead.
My point is simple, Dr. Bawumia given the nod will be going into 2028 elections with 41% support base of the party who believe in him and his message. With this any other candidate apart from Dr. Bawumia will be starting from 0% voters with an obvious apathy from the 41% voters who naturally believe in the competence of Dr. Bawumia. My question here is does the party have much funds to sell a new candidate.? Will the party have much time at their disposal to address the apathy that may result from rejecting Dr. Bawumia and his 41% support base?
Again, presenting Dr. Bawumia as the candidate for the 2028 election will offer the party an opportunity to present a consistent message to the electorates. In political marketing the message is important as the candidate therefore, maintaining a consistent message is non-negotiable in winning the trust of the electorates.
With this point raised, presenting any other candidate apart from Dr. Bawumia means that the party will be forced to sell a new message which might take a long time to before it is acceptable by the electorates a side the cost involves in selling it. The question here is does the party have that much time and funds to sell a new message.?
Also, history and precedence, the history of the 4th Republic has it that no Presidential candidate has survived their first attempt at the Presidential elections in our party and even with the NDC the likes of Prof. Atta Mills.
With this any attempt to change Dr. Bawumia will be viewed as unfair and will definitely have electoral consequences for the party.
To end, I will say presenting Candidate Bawumia will be cost effective and energy saving for the party and above all the surest and safest path to victory in 2028.
Let the party make no mistake, let's stay focused and unity and rally behind Dr. Bawumia the digital man to cling victory for the party come 2028.
Thank you.
