Which serious political party would not put in the needed effort to unite its forces before heading into a major election like 2028? Certainly not the New Patriotic Party.
Take Alan Kyerematen and Kennedy Agyapong, for instance.
The need to bring them back on board, if feasible, is not lost on us, including the flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia.
However, it is simply not feasible because both hold a fundamental position that is entirely untenable. They insist they will return to the NPP only if Dr. Bawumia steps down as the flagbearer, so that one of them can step into the role for 2028.
Kennedy Agyapong is not ready to accept any position in the party other than being allowed to serve as its flagbearer. Hardline.
The same applies to Alan Kyerematen.
Does this make political sense?
Hypothetically, if we should make Kennedy the flagbearer, there is no motivation for Alan to join us, because that denies him the flagbearership, and vice versa.
Given this reality, are you really comfortable with people continually making the point that the two must be brought on board? Brought them on board to do what? To replace Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as our flagbearer for Election 2028?
Do you understand the logic at play here?
Are you sure you know what you are saying?
Who offended them in the first place? They went into a flagbearership race and lost to a superior candidate fair and square. So why this?
