Distinguished Editors,

Now that the elections are over and I have been fully sworn in as Communications Director, I want to pause and say thank you.

You have been with me all this while. Through the long days and the difficult moments, you gave our message space, fairness and a hearing. You took my calls at odd hours, checked the facts with me, and held me to a standard that made our work better. Much of what we have been able to deliver on the communications mandate rests on your support.

I remember when I released my declaration of intent video, and got detained same day by EOCO, you still splashed my declaration on your front pages though, I was in detention.

I do not take that for granted.

As I settle into this office, my commitment to you is simple:

• My door and my phone remain open to you

• You will get timely, accurate information from us

• I will respect your independence, including when you disagree with us

The work ahead is bigger than the work behind us, and I would be honoured to keep walking this road with you. I look forward to meeting with you soon to share our direction and to hear your counsel.

Thank you, sincerely. God bless you.

Dennis Miracles Aboagye
