The Voiceless Media Research Group conducted its usual research into the upcoming regional elections of the NPP slated for Saturday.

We focused exclusively on the Chairmanship contest for 2 reasons: firstly, the time constraints to do a thorough research of all the positions and secondly resource constraints to have extended our coverage to other positions. 

Our sample size for this research was a straightforward one. The very people who are to elect the Regional chairmen were the very people we collected our data from.

We also deployed the godfather, sponsor, family, and close friend model to authenticate our data.  

We are sure that in view of the very thorough work that we have done, our finding in terms of the Chairmanship contest in the Upper West Region shall come to pass on Saturday. 

Brief remarks

The Upper West Region is made up of 11 constituencies. 

On Saturday, 260 delegates shall be voting in the Upper West Region. This is the breakdown:

1. Constituency Executives = 209

2. ⁠Regional Executives = 16

3. ⁠Elders and Patrons = 20

4. ⁠National Council Member = 1

5. ⁠TESCON Presidents = 13

6. ⁠TESCON Coordinator 1

Total number of delegates  = 260

*The Chairmanship Aspirants*

It is a two  horse race in the Upper West Region between Alhaji Abdul- Aziz  Abdul- Rahaman popularly known as Chairman White and Alhaji Alhassan Kanton Alaska Braimah   a businessman. 

Alhaji White was a financier of the NPP in the Upper West Region and subsequently became a regional patron. 

He contested on two occasions for the Regional Vice Chairman position and won.

He became the regional chairman when Chairman Kangberee passed on. He was the first vice chairman at the time.

Alhaji Alhassan Kanton is currently the regional organiser of the NPP  in the Upper West Region.

 He previously served as a constituency youth organiser in the then Sisala constituency of the Upper West Region.

Our thorough interactions  with the very delegates who will be voting on Saturday show that a confirmed number of 160 delegates representing 61.5% shall vote for Alhaji Abdul- Aziz Abdul Rahaman also known as Alhaji White. 

He will, therefore, be confirmed as the Upper West Regional Chairman of the NPP on  Saturday.
