The Dangme Bloc of the Greater Accra Region has reportedly thrown its full support behind former General Secretary John Boadu's bid for the position of National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

At an engagement hosted by the Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Hon. Divine Agorhom, constituency executives and party faithfuls from Ada, Sege, Ningo-Prampram, Kpone-Katamanso, and Shai-Osudoku are said to have overwhelmingly endorsed Mr. Boadu, describing him as the most experienced, competent, and unifying candidate to lead the party into the future.

According to participants, speakers at the event consistently emphasized that John Boadu possesses the leadership qualities, organizational experience, and strategic vision required to rebuild the party, strengthen its structures, and position the NPP for victory in the 2028 general elections.

Several senior party figures, including former ministers, former chief executives, and national officers, reportedly endorsed his candidature, praising his ability to unite the party across different interests and factions.

Addressing the gathering in both Ga and English, Mr. Boadu is said to have outlined his vision for the party, demonstrating a deep understanding of its history, grassroots structures, and electoral challenges. He reportedly assured delegates that under his leadership, votes cast for the party would be protected from the polling station through to final declaration.

The assurance was met with enthusiasm from attendees, who are said to have expressed confidence in his ability to restore trust, strengthen the party's electoral machinery, and return the NPP to power.

Observers at the meeting indicated that the Dangme Bloc appeared united and energized behind Mr. Boadu's candidature, with many executives expressing their commitment to supporting his campaign ahead of the September national elections.

The overall message from the gathering was clear: many within the Dangme Bloc believe the party requires a leader capable of uniting its rank and file, rebuilding confidence, and leading the NPP back to electoral success, and they see John Boadu as the candidate best positioned to achieve that objective.
