The answer to this question is yes. If there would ever be any transition from Hon. Nitiwul to any other NPP Parliamentary Candidate in the Bimbila constituency, it must be done diplomatically and with respect.
The reasons for this admonition would be known at the end of this deliberately researched work on the Bimbila constituency.
Brief profile of the Bimbila constituency
The dominant tribes in the Bimbila constituency are Kokonbas and Nanumbas. We are going to delve deep into this matter politically.
The Bimbila constituency has 183 Polling Stations presently. 54 of the 183 Polling Stations are dominated by the Nanumbas.
What it meams is that 129 Polling Stations are dominated by Konkonbas.
There are 42 electoral areas in the Bimbila constituency. Out of the 42 Electoral Areas, 12 are Nanumba dominated, and 30 Electoral Areas dominated by the Konkonbas.
Of the over 91,315 votes in the Bimbila constituency, the Nanumba votes stand at 32,000 with Konkonba votes hovering around 59, 000.
From the above figures, it is factual to say that no Nanumg or any other tribe can beat Hon. Nitiwul to become a parliamentary candidate for the Bimbila constituency without the support of the Konkonbas.
The Kingmakers in the Bimbila constituency are the Konkonbas because of their numbers.
This is a fact known to the various stakeholders in the Bimbila constituency and also good researchers.
*The performance of Hon Nitiwul in the Bimbila township*
Hon Dominic has consistently performed poorly in the Bimbila township of the constituency. Incidentally, that is where names that have popped up as potential Parliamentary aspirants come from.
In the 2024 Parliamentary elections, Hon Dominic Nitiwul won at only one out of the fifty- four polling stations in the Bimbila township.
The Worimi Polling Station was the one he won in the Bimbila township.
In 2020, he won only two polling stations in the Bimbila township.
It must be explained that 2020 and 2024 have registered not less than two Polling Station wins for Hon Nitiwul in the Bimbila township.
*Are the Konkonbas fed up with Hon. Nitiwul?*
The answer is a big no. The attacks on Hon. Nitiwul by non- Konkonbas is giving him sympathy in the Konkonka polling stations and electoral areas.
There is no doubt that Hon. Nitiwul is not a saint and can have a few Konkonbas being unhappy with him.
This is natural for any human being. Any dislike for Nitiwul by Konkonbas does not translate into votes for a non Konkonba in the Bimbila constituency.
He will win any internal promaries of the NPP in the Bimbila constituency any day.
He will even proceed to retain the Bimbila seat for the NPP.
In any worst-case scenario, his winning margin against the NDC might reduce, but he shall be victorious.
Those calling for change in the Parliamentary seat in the Bimbila constituency should not be emotive.
They shouldn't attempt tribalism because they don't have the numbers.
They must understand the geopolitics of the Bimbila constituency very well.
Any potential future MP for Bimbila on the ticket of the NPP must "worship" Hon. Nitiwul to get there one day.
No MP can win in the Bimbila constituency without the overwhelming support of the Konkonbas.
This is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
*What if the NDC features a Konkonba as their Parliamentary candidate?*
This wouldn't be the first time if the NDC should field a Konkonba candidate.
They fielded Mamboah Rockson twice, and he was defeated heavily by Hon. Nitiwul.
There is no Konkonba community that has not received developmental opportunities at the instance of the former Defense Minister. They are not complaining about anything.
The irony is that the complaints against Hon. Nitiwul are taking place in far away Tamale or from people from the Bimbila township who don't already vote for him. It has, therefore, no political effect.
Aside from that, there is no Konkonba politician in the Bimbila constituency who has brought enormous developmental opportunities to them than Hon. Nitiwul.
There are even accusations against him from the Nanumba areas that he was carrying more developmental projects to his brethren.
Any strategic politician would carry maximum developments to areas he is appreciated more.
Maybe that is the strategy Hon Nitiwul is employing in the Bimbila constituency.
The Konkonbas will vote for him any day, and the NPP must continue to support Hon. Nitiwul to continue to win the Bimbila seat for the party.
If there is anybody with a rejoinder to this article, that person must contradict our figures and assertions and not the misinformation that is usually peddled on Tik Tok and other places.
