The Ghana  Consulate in Jeddah have confirmed that over 15MILLION Muslims from all over the world  visited the Masjid Al- Haram (The Grand Mosque) since the start of the Muslim Holy month of Ramadan for the performance of  Umrah (lesser pilgrimage).

This number according to an interview with the Consular -General of Ghana in Jeddah Alhaji Kamal-Deen Abdulai who has Makkah- The Holy City as part of his jurisdiction, the number  includes some Muslims from Ghana.

Muslims make time to perform the Umrah every year  to worship and pray for themselves, families and country and this year is of no exception.

Some Ghanaian pilgrims  performing the Umrah this year  told the *Voiceless media* that they were in Mecca to renew and strengthen their spiritual connections to God and to also thank him for his favours on them and their families. They also prayed for the best for Ghana.

Despite the unprecedented numbers this year Voiceless media can confirm that it had largely been incident free.

It is the dream of every Muslim to visit Mecca to either perform the Umrah, Hajj or both.

Alhaji Kamal-Deen Abdulai who recently assumed work as the Consular -General in Jeddah says he is enthusiastic about the opportunity to serve Ghana in that position and promised to offer his best in service to humanity.
