STEM education is a teaching approach that combines Science, technology, engineering, and Mathematics. It encourages discussions and problem-solving among students, developing practical skills and collaboration.

As technology evolves rapidly, it calls for innovative and creative ways of problem-solving. This means that obsolete ways of doing things give way to new ideas and innovation. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum's STEM education seeks to achieve the following:

A diverse STEM workforce protects the nation against national security concerns such as security from terrorism, minimization of crime, economic security, energy security, environmental security, food security, and cyber-security.
