The Ashanti region is in no doubt the vote basket of the New Patriotic Party as far as general elections are concerned, both Presidential and Parliamentary elections. For the avoidance of doubt Asanteman has always stood with the elephant regardless of where  it's Presidential candidates comes from so therefore no candidate in this year's flagbearer ship race can take advantage of the loyalty of the region to make a convincing case for himself.  Asanteman stood with President Kuffour  for eight years not because he was one of them but because the party gave them the needed developments. Again, the region have voted for President  Akufo Addo, in two different elections even though he is not from the region  but because of the priority the NPP has given  the region in terms of  development. To set the record straight, Asanteman's long term relationship with the elephant is premised on the party's commitments to the development of  the region but not on single individuals or group of people in the party.  The new patriotic party has always made  the Ashanti region a priority in terms of developments so it is not surprising the region is so loyal to the party. People sometimes interpret their loyalty to the NPP as tribal but it is far from that.The Loyalty of the people of Ashanti region to the NPP is extremely different from that of Volta Region to the NDC. 

The point I am trying to establish with this write up is that, the Ashanti region will continue to stay with the elephant party  because the elephant has always been good to the region with in terms of  Developments and that, the Ashanti region  will never turn it back at the elephant base on the candidates they present on the Ballot in 2024 whether the candidate comes from the region or not. To Asanteman development is paramount and the candidate's place of origin is immaterial to them as far as the New Patriotic Party continues to prioritize the region for development they  will continue to vote massively for party without hesitation.

The above point shoots down the argument advanced by  section of the elephant family supporting Alan Kyeremanten  who claim that, Ashanti region will not vote for the elephant 🐘 if the NPP  fail to elect Alan kyeremanten as it flagbearer. My question to them , is Alan kyeremanten the only Ashanti in the race? Don't we have proper Ashantis like Afriyie  Akoto ?

Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is in the contest as a tribal neutral because he has proven widely accepted by all the regions in the country with his extraordinary trait of tolerance. He has proven beyond reasonable doubt  to Asanteman and all the other region that  he is committed  to continuing with the  development of  his boss President Akufo Addo.

Asantehene  has on countless number of times commended Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia on his commitment and dedication to the development of  Asanteman and has publicly adopted him as a true so of the Ashanti region.

It is very dangerous and unwise for anyone to say the NPP party is an AKAN party and that it must elect an AKAN to lead it. In as much as most of our votes as a party comes from the our stronghold the Ashanti region does make the party the possession of the region  the NPP needs a strong party  in the northern region and the Volta region which are the strongholds of the opposition NDC  to reduce the votes margin of the NDC in those regions to be able to win and break the 8. Under no circumstance should any sane person sit on live radio to boldly and arrogantly make such an irresponsible contemptuous statement   on behalf of a weak candidate who has confessed he has no message.

In the 2020 presidential elections  results , in the Bantama constituency  Nana Akufo Addo had about 57,300 votes  compared to 78,467 in Dome kwabenya so even base on their own argument, that the party always wait for results in Ashanti region precisely Bantama constituency to make permutations so that make the region important than the others hence the flagbearer should be selected from there. Per the results above are they saying Dome kwabenya is more important than Bantama constituency ? So I ask should we base on the results from Dome kwabenya and say the NPP is a Ga party and that the party should choose it flagbearer fro Dome kwabenya or the Gt Accra region? SMH.

In fact I was expecting the campaign team of Alan kyeremanten to by now issue a disclaimer on that arrogant ignoramus by distancing the Campaign team and their candidate from that unwise shallow comment but as usual of them nothing of that sort has been done about the comment sadly we have seen his supporters writing to support the comment.

It has now become obviously clear that , Hon.  Alan and his team are not in to help the party break the 8 but to help break the party. *From the NPP party has a winning formula of Akan/ Northener ticket to the NPP party do not have convincing message to win 2024 elections to NPP is Akan party*  very much unfortunate.

Delegates will definitely not sit down for an individual to use tribal sentiments to destroy our party. The NPP cherishes  every single vote and does not place any special premium on any vote and any tribe.
